  • Professor Laurent El Ghaoui is a globally recognized leader in optimization, machine learning, and decision sciences, with over three decades of academic and industry impact. He received his PhD from Stanford University and has held senior faculty positions at ENSTA Paris, Université Paris Sorbonne, and the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Full Professor in EECS and Industrial Engineering & Operations Research.
  • He is a highly cited scholar with more than 100 publications and 60,000+ citations, top 0.14% most cited researcher in AI globally, and a foundational contributor to robust optimization and decision-making under uncertainty. In 2022, he joined VinUniversity to lead research and innovation strategy and is also a co-founder of Kayrros, a leading environmental intelligence company.

Dr. Nguyen Phi Long

  • Dr. Nguyen Phi Long is an experienced engineer and researcher specializing in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, smart energy systems, and renewable energy integration. He is currently a Researcher at VinUniversity, focusing on the design, optimization, and large-scale deployment of intelligent EV charging stations and energy management solutions.

  • Prior to his academic role, he worked at Viettel Aerospace on advanced engineering and applied R&D projects involving high-reliability systems. He also held technical and research roles associated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, contributing to national-level science and innovation programs bridging public policy, applied research, and industrial deployment.

  • He is also an Angel Investor, actively supporting early-stage and growth-stage ventures in AI-powered platforms and advanced urban technologies.
